Welcome to the Department of International Relations website!

Approved by the Higher Education Council in 1992, our department was established in 1994. We initiated primarily the graduate curriculum in 1997-1998 academic year. In 1999-2000 we began accepting our first undergraduate students. Doctoral education in our department started in the 2020-2021 academic year. Our mission is: to educate people who are able to make accurate analysis of the current political and economic developments while putting the national interests first; to raise individuals who will be eligible to work for various national and international institutions; to conduct strategic research, to make publications and to offer consultancy.

Besides Hacettepe University, our department is currently in cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Joint Chief of Staff, TÜBA, TIKA, SAM, ASAM, Central Bank of Turkey, UNHCR, WTO, Foreign Policy Institute, Association for Solidarity with Asylum-Seekers and Migrants, and other universities.

IMPORTANT! A museum card is required for the INR 461 Art History course, which is planned to be opened in the summer school. In addition, a student who does not attend even one of the extra-class activities will fail the course.

The additional exam for BEB 650 Basic Information and Communication Technologies course for the Spring Term will be held face to face on Thursday, June 15, 2023, between 16:00-17:00, at the Institute of Informatics.

IMPORTANT! It has been decided by the Senate of our university to conduct the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester final and make-up exams of the undergraduate and graduate courses (held hybrid or online) online. Additional exams of students who have been entitled to will be held face to face.
