Hacettepe International Relations Community (HIRC), which was established in 2002, is the student society of the department of International Relations of Hacettepe University. The community carries out projects to pursue academic studies on international politics and global relations, to develop social awareness, and to establish student youth networks. The community promotes both the department and the university by combining the theoretical knowledge provided by the department of International Relations with the business world, through organizations in the events such as conferences, panels, promotions, congresses, and social services. The community also organizes joint activities with other communities, providing solidarity and cooperation. In this perspective, students are introduced to the academic life. The community acts in the light of Atatürk’s principles and reforms, and no member of the community uses it for political and religious purposes.
